Hackney Planning Watch has just issued its response to the consultation on the Draft Proposals for Stamford Hill (which includes the whole of Cazenove Ward). It steps through the stages of Hackney’s on-line Survey pointing to areas of concern – particularly in the provision of inappropriate housing and schools where guidelines are woolly, controls too lax and enforcement too weak.

Remember that once the Draft is adopted, it will regulate decisions made by Planning Officers for applications. In its present unamended form there are too many weaknesses. Badly-drafted or biased regulations are likely to lead to resentment amongst residents. Only with broad consensus achieved by establishing rules that respect all groups within our area can good relations be maintained. Please respond to the Survey. Let Hackney know your opinion. Improve the Draft.
