Springfield Park

The Springfield Park Users Group and Hackney Council are conducting a survey and public consultation to find out what local users would like to see happen in their park.

The online survey can be completed at: https://consultation.hackney.gov.uk/parks-green-spaces/springfield-park-consultation

Residents are invited to feed into exciting restoration plans for Springfield Park.

With 14.73 hectares overlooking the Lea Valley, the park is one of the borough’s largest green spaces, and the Council is keen to restore some of its early 20th century features.

It plans to submit a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund to allow it to restore and refurbish all of the park’s three houses – which date back to early/mid 19th century –  upgrade the park’s footpaths, play equipment, gates, railings and help to preserve its magnificent collection of trees.

Ahead of the application, the parks team wants to talk to as many park users as possible to explain the ambitious project and get their thoughts on what would improve the park. They will be holding a day of events, which will include talks from guest speakers about Springfield’s rich and varied heritage, as well as a cycle surgery, drawing workshop, face painting and free refreshments.Springfield Park 7 Dec
